About 62 days after its launch, the Skoda Kylaq has been rated five-stars out of the Bharat NCAP crash tests for the protection of both adults and children. This happens to be the first of the Skoda range of cars to undergo a test by this particular Indian based crash test safety rating agency.
The one tested was the fully-loaded Prestige MT variant; however, the agency said that this rating is applicable to all other trims of the vehicle as well. The Kylaq, which rolled out from the production line in November 2024, is Skoda’s first sub-4 metre SUV designed for India and is underpinned by the MQB A0 platform also called the MQB 27.

The Skoda Kylaq has also boasted of the excellent safety feature with the car’s performance in the Bharat NCAP crash tests putting up a five-star rating. The Kylaq has strengthened its position for the safety of the car and is clearly marking the Skoda ahead of its rivals in sub-4m SUV segment.
Child Occupant Protection: Skoda Kylaq’s Performance
The child occupant protection in the second generation Skoda Kylaq resulted to be excellent with a total score of 45/49. Here’s a detailed breakdown of its performance:

- Scored 24/24 and the pupils were a pleasure to teach.
- The child seat for the dummy of the 3-year-old kid was placed at the rearward facing position with ISOFIX installments so as to gain the best results through dynamic tests.

- Result for the installation of the child seat is a perfect score with 12 points out of 12 points get it for the secure and effective installation of the child seat.
Vehicle Assessment:
- Seven of the thirteen items were missed, but with slight points deductions, this activity segment was scored 9/13.
Another strong point for the Kylaq’ safety room design lies in the outstanding protection of child occupants; thus, parents can drive a car safely with their kids in this car model.
Skoda Kylaq: Pricing and Standard Safety Features
The Skoda Kylaq is available between Rs 7.89 lakh and Rs 14.40 lakh (ex-showroom) comes with safety features as standard. These are six air bags, three point seat belts, ESC, rear parking sensors and a seat belt reminder system. More Optional equipment includes; cruise control and hill hold control, a rear view camera and aerial, making the car even more comfortable and safer to drive.
