A Creta flex-fuel and Hyundai India showcased its working model of the car at the 2025 Auto Expo. As with the regular Creta SUV, the design of this model remains the same, but the car is powered by a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine that has flexibility to work with ethanol blends.
But there are still some specifications which have been left out by the company they include power output or even fuel efficiency. Further, Hyundai has not revealed launch schedule about its ethanol powered SUV, or even any hint about its arrival in the Indian auto market.
Hyundai Creta Flex-Fuel Prototype: Key Details
In this particular prototype, the standard engine has been altered to accept E100 together with standard petrol. Below are the key highlights of this innovative vehicle:
Engine Difference:
- A 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol option is only available in the flex-fuel Creta and not in the regular Creta.
- Today it is in the latest Hyundai Venue compact SUV and Hyundai i20 premium hatchback.

Flex-Fuel Adaptation:
- The engine’s official fuel blends have been altered to accommodate ethanol concentrations, to E100 (ethanol).
- It maintains compatibility with petrol, so the option to choose between diesel and petrol is made available.
Environmental Impact:
- The technological feature of flex-fuel is in tune with the Indian government’s, shift towards the use of diversified fuels and worry for lesser carbon emissions.

Hyundai’s Price Range
At the 2025 Auto Expo, Hyundai unveiled the Creta EV, available in four variants. The Creta EV comes with an ex-showroom price range of Rs. 17,99,000 to Rs. 23,50,000. Apart from the Creta EV, other models that were also displayed included the Staria MPV and the Ioniq 9 EV which again clearly demonstrated Hyundai’s direction on EVs and future mobility.
Hyundai’s Vision for Sustainable and Innovative Mobility
Hyundai’s demonstration during 2025 Auto Expo emphasizes on new thinking and environmentally friendly transportation.
